The Total Nose™ approach to the nose and sinuses is a procedure developed by Dr. Nachlas three decades ago to treat aesthetic and functional issues of the nose and sinuses, restoring nasal beauty and function. Since that time, he has treated thousands of satisfied patients with this procedure.
The nose is a complex organ. Many assume that it is limited to the visible part of the nose that has a variable size, contains two nostrils, a tip, and a bridge. It actually extends from that visible tip all the way back to the center of the head.
Dr. Nachlas was the Chief Resident in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital where minimally invasive sinus surgery was first introduced in 1985. This procedure enabled surgeons to take care of a variety of serious functional issues with the nose and sinuses through telescopes and microscopic instruments so that for the first time no incisions were required. Following his chief residency year, Dr. Nachlas spent his subsequent facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship time in Beverly Hills, California. There he acquired expertise and artistry in restructuring the outside of the nose. With these two former disparate disciplines completed, he started his practice in Boca Raton, where he developed the Total Nose™ approach. He united these two disciplines to help patients attain a nose that is cosmetically beautiful as well as functionally sound.
